Jubilee Series Plot

Jubilee follows the lives of several characters connected to the Indian film industry during 1940s and 50s.

Shrikant Roy, a producer, selects Jamshed Khan, a theatre actor, to be cast as Madan Kumar, the hero of his latest film. Binod Das, Roy’s right-hand man, is sent to bring Jamshed and Roy’s wife, Sumitra Kumari, back from their affair. Binod beats Jamshed unconscious and escapes when rioters come upon them.

Binod Das eventually becomes Madan Kumar, the superstar. Jay Khanna, Jamshed’s best friend, falls in love with Niloufer a courtesan. Jay Khanna creates his own studio, while Niloufer goes on to become a lead actress.
